With SXSW just around the corner, I’ve dived into the Austin tech ecosystem. I’ve put together a guide to the #VCs, angel groups, accelerators, incubators, co-working spaces, and unicorns in the area.

First impressions? I’m astounded by the number of unicorns thriving in Austin. It’s among the top 20 cities globally with the most unicorns.

I’m also blown away by the extensive support network for early-stage startups. With over 30 accelerators, venture studios, and incubators, Austin truly nurtures early-stage startups. Plus, it has a high density of startups per capita compared to other major US cities. Austin ranks among the top cities for startup density with approximately 1,000 startups per 100,000 people.

When it comes to VC funding, Austin is also ranking high. While it may not be as big as Silicon Valley, Boston, NYC, or LA, it’s holding its own being number 5 in the US for total VC funding.

💡 I’ll be sharing more insights and thoughts after my week in Austin, so stay tuned here for updates!
